Another six months have passed, and another Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) cycle is upon us. As I've prepared to explain to another group of Sailors why their body-fat levels make the Navy
no longer desire their services, I've come to the conclusion that there really isn't a good explanation, and the body composition assessment (BCA—the use of height/weight tables and body measurements to determine body-fat percentage) portion of the PFA should be eliminated. As the readers of this head to their computers to disagree, let me start the discussion:
Objection: The BCA measures fitness, and we need a fit force.
