Enterprise Founder Appointed to the Arleigh Burke Society
Life Member Jack C. Taylor of St. Louis, Missouri, has attained the Arleigh Burke Society, the top donor level for a Naval Institute Commodore. He is Chairman Emeritus of Enterprise Rent-a-Car.
Jack Taylor flew F6F Hellcats during World War II, earning two Distinguished Flying Crosses and the Air Medal. After the war, he launched an auto leasing business in 1957 while working as sales manager at a St. Louis Cadillac distributorship. In 1969, Taylor renamed his flourishing company in honor of "The Big E," the USS Enterprise (CV-6), from which he flew combat missions during the war.
