After 60 years, with numerous historians having published exhaustively on the subject, what more is there to learn about the events that took place on 6 June 1944 at a beach in France called Omaha? If these written accounts have not been able to communicate the story of the heroics of the men who stormed the beach that morning, surely those events have been depicted thoroughly on screen by such epic films as The Longest Day and Saving Private Ryan.
