Any serious discussion of the U.S. Naval Academy will engender strong reactions. The opinions of alumni and other knowledgeable observers vary widely about where any problems may lie, whether they are transitory or systemic, and what should be done to correct them. Some are personally invested in one perspective or other because of earlier or current association with the Naval Academy.
