This html article is produced from an uncorrected text file through optical character recognition. Prior to 1940 articles all text has been corrected, but from 1940 to the present most still remain uncorrected. Artifacts of the scans are misspellings, out-of-context footnotes and sidebars, and other inconsistencies. Adjacent to each text file is a PDF of the article, which accurately and fully conveys the content as it appeared in the issue. The uncorrected text files have been included to enhance the searchability of our content, on our site and in search engines, for our membership, the research community and media organizations. We are working now to provide clean text files for the entire collection.
International Navies Photo Contest Winners
2nd Honorable Mention: J. M. Van Leeuwen, RNZN, “Battle Stations”
The International Navies Photo Contest continues its impressive growth. More than 200 entries were submitted for review by our judges this year.
There was stiff competition among professional photographers from the United Kingdom, Poland, Denmark, Canada, Turkey, New Zealand, Greece, and Australia.
Again this year, the contest was dominated by photography from the Royal Navy. Yet, as word of our contest continues to spread, it is becoming more and more difficult to select from the very best of the international navies photo contest entries.
On the following pages you will see what our distinguished judges say are the best of this year’s submissions. We hope you enjoy viewing them as much as we have enjoyed judging them.
