At the Imperial War College where I was a student when Japan went to war against the United States and Great Britain, both instructors and students studied the memoirs of Winston Churchill and Lloyd George. Particularly they studied those phases pertaining to convoy escort methods devised to meet unrestricted submarine operations by the Germans. All of us were convinced of the importance of convoy escort.
