A. THE SCOPE OF THE SUBJECT ORGANIZATION IS COMPARABLE TO DESIGN.
Organization, management, personnel, and other related terms, refer to matters so intimately associated in practice that a study of the fundamental principles of one without introducing questions belonging more properly to the others is rendered difficult. Hence it is not unusual to find that an essay on the subject of organization deals primarily with questions of administration and management. A further source of confusion results from the fact that the word “ organization ” is used to denote not only the process of organizing, but also that which is organized, f. e., “ any systematically organic whole.” This paper is concerned with the first or more abstract conception of the term.
