The Royal Australian Navy announced in November that it had located the wreck of the USS Edsall (DD-219), aka “the Dancing Mouse,” in the Indian Ocean about 200 miles east of Christmas Island. After a defiant struggle, the destroyer had been sunk by Japanese forces on 1 March 1942.
