The U.S. Naval Institute with support from the U.S. Naval Academy Engineering Department and the USNA Center for Energy Security and Infrastructure Resilience  gathered government officials, military personnel, and academic scholars to delve into the crucial nexus of national security, the American economy, and the future of energy. They examined pressing issues affecting the U.S. defense industrial base, including aging infrastructure, supply chain vulnerabilities, and obstacles in producing essential war components. Moreover, they tackled the significant challenges posed to military installations, facilities, and critical infrastructure essential for national security, given the rising sea levels and increasing frequency of natural disasters.
