Why was this project for the 2018 Naval Institute Member Directory paused?

The U.S. Naval Institute discovered some data inconsistencies with the launch in November 2017 and decided to pause the program. These data issues have been corrected and the program is re-launching. We are working to stay on schedule for Membership Directory deliveries.


When will I receive my 2018 Naval Institute Membership Directory?

Directories will be shipped December 2018. Please allow standard USPS delivery time frames to receive your 2018 U.S. Naval Institute Membership Directory. If you have any questions or concerns, please call PCI customer service at 1-800-982-1590.


How do I return my Directory?

If you are unsatisfied with your 2018 Naval Institute Membership Directory for any reason, please contact PCI customer service at 1-800-982-1590.


I received a phone call asking for my personal information from someone claiming to be working on a directory for the U.S. Naval Institute. Is this legitimate or a scam?

Phone calls from PCI are legitimate. The U.S. Naval Instiute has contracted with PCI, also known as Publishing Concepts, Inc., to publish our new 2018 Naval Institute Membership Directory.  Located in Dallas, Texas, PCI publishes directories for educational institutions, fraternities, sororities and military organizations across the nation. This project allows the U.S. Naval Institute to receive important updates to our database so that we can better serve our members.


Why do I need to call PCI to update my information?

In order for Naval Institute members to stay connected with one another, and for us to properly serve you as a member, keeping your contact information up-to-date is vital. The call only takes a couple of minutes, and the PCI representative will have your latest known contact information in front of them when you call.


How do I know my information will only be used for directory purposes?

The U.S. Naval Institute has a contractual agreement with PCI that states:

a. The names, addresses and information provided to PCI by U.S. Naval Institute for the publication of the Directory will be held confidential by PCI, except to the extent that they are utilized in, or in the preparation of, the Directory and except as required by court order or law.

b. The Directory will be made available only to members of U.S. Naval Institute. Upon completion of the project, PCI will return to U.S. Naval Institute any and all electronic files that have been supplied by U.S. Naval Institute or produced by PCI in connection with the production of the Directory.


I would like to verify and update my information. How may I do this?

If you have received a postcard or an email with a telephone number, you may call that number to speak with a dedicated representative for Naval Institute members. The representative will verify all the information we have on file for you and make any updates where needed.

If you have received an email with an embedded link, you may go to the online site to review your information.  If you have questions, you may call PCI’s customer service desk at 1-800-982-1590.


How can I get a copy of the directory?

Directories will be printed only for those Naval Institute members who reserve a copy. You can reserve yours by calling 1-877-982-1590. A PCI representative will explain your options for purchasing.

In addition, members have the opportunity to provide photographs of their time in the service which can be added in the Photo Gallery of the Membership Directory. Members can also purchase a special sweatshirt with the Naval Institute logo.


What information will be printed in this directory? Can I choose to have information withheld?

When you speak to the PCI representative to update or verify your information, you can tell him or her what information you would prefer to have excluded. 


Who will be included in the directory?

The directory will contain all living Golden Life, Life, Regular and Digital members of the U.S. Naval Institute.


I do not want to be included in the directory at all. How do I prevent my information from being published?

If you would rather your information not be printed in the directory at all, please call U.S. Naval Institute Member Services at 1-800-233-8764. We will be sure to have your record removed from the directory publication.


When will I receive the copy of the directory that I ordered?

Directories will ship December 2018.


Who do I call if I have other questions?

Should PCI not be able to answer your question or resolve your concerns, or if you have additional questions, you can call Naval Institute Member Services at 1-800-233-8764 Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.


Why did I receive a postcard from the U.S. Naval Institute addressed from Texas?

The postcard was mailed by PCI on behalf of the Naval Institute. PCI is located in Dallas, Texas.


Someone at PCI called me a few months ago about the U.S. Naval Institute 2018 Membership Directory.  I didn’t place an order at the time, but I would like to now.  Can I still do that?

If the directory has not yet been printed, you can still reserve a copy by calling the PCI customer service desk at 1-800-982-1590.


I ordered a directory package over the phone and want to cancel my order. How do I do this?

Call the PCI customer service help desk at 1-800-982-1590, and they will take care of this for you.
