Lieutenant Commander Vandenengel is the flag aide for commander, Submarine Forces. During his tour as weapons officer on the USS Alexandria (SSN-757), he completed two western Pacific deployments and won the RADM Willis Lent Award as the most tactically proficient submarine department head in the Pacific Fleet.
