Dr. Charles P. Neimeyer

Dr. Charles P. Neimeyer Lieutenant Colonel, U.S. Marine Corps (Ret.) is currently the Director and Chief of Marine Corps History at Marine Corps University, Quantico, Virginia. Prior to taking this post in December 2006, Dr. Neimeyer was Dean of Academics at Forrest Sherman Chair of Public Diplomacy at the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island. From 1997-2002,he worked as a full-time professor of National Security Affairs at the institution. Serving at a variety of posts and stations during his 20-year Marine Corps career, his military duties included service in three Marine Divisions. While on active duty he earned masters and doctoral degrees in history (with distinction) from Georgetown University ? and an additional masters degree from the Naval War College, where he graduated with highest honors. Dr. Neimeyer edited the book USMC Wisdom from the Pages of Leatherneck, Marine Corps Gazette, and Proceedings, published by the Naval Institute Press.
