Help the Naval Institute Go Green
The Naval Institute Foundation relies on direct mail to raise gift income because it works—and the margin of excellence this extra support affords the Institute's educational programs can't be achieved by membership dues alone. It's expensive to reach out to members through the mail, so we are trying something new in this month's Proceedings and ask for your help to make the experiment a success.
Between pages 16 and 17 of this issue is a donation form that includes a postage-paid envelope. It costs the Foundation considerably less to insert this form in the magazine than it does to mail individual appeal letters—savings passed directly to the Institute's many programs and returned to members through improved services. It also requires less paper and energy to reach out this way, so everybody wins.
Please pull out the form and return it with your best gift today. If now is not the right time to contribute, please retain the form and send in your tax-deductible support when it is more convenient.
If members will respond generously to appeals in Proceedings—or make their tax-deductible gifts on-line at www.usni.org—we can make better use of limited Foundation funds and deliver to you a sounder and stronger USNI.
