Full Description:

Based on twenty years of research in formerly secret archives, this book reveals for the first time the full significance of War Plan Orange—the U.S. Navy's strategy to defeat Japan, formulated over the forty years prior to World War II.

Edward S. Miller, a Phi Beta Kappa graduate in economics at Syracuse University and the Harvard Advanced Management Program, served as chief financial officer of a major international mining corporation and the U.S. Synthetic Fuels Corporation. His interest in business planning led to the writing of War Plan Orange, winner of five distinguished history book awards. He lives in Washington, D.C.

as one of the "50 Must Read Books" on the Second World War.
