Uproar 11, a flight of two F/A-18E Super Hornet aircraft, launches from a U.S. aircraft carrier. The carrier has been on station in the North Arabian Sea for five months as part of a seven-month deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan. Her mission is to provide close-air support and non-traditional intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance in support of a joint tactical air request (JTAR) to an infantry company conducting a key leader engagement (KLE) in Regional Command East in Afghanistan. The flight launches and conducts identification friend or foe and communications checks. The carrier ensures her aircraft are fully ready for combat. The flight proceeds nearly 1,000 nautical miles to its initial refueling track.
