USNI Commodore Donates Art

In October 2010, while in Annapolis to attend the Naval Institute’s piracy conference, USNI Commodore Dr. Robert W. Selle of Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, his wife, Katharine, and granddaughter Nelly Calhoun stopped by Beach Hall to view their recent gift to the Institute. The print, “Catch Me If You Can,” by noted military and maritime artist Tom W. Freeman, depicts the USS Constitution being pursued under fire by a squad of British ships. Freeman’s artwork is now prominently displayed in the conference room on the fourth floor of the Naval Institute’s headquarters.
