Proceedings Magazine - January 2011 Vol. 137/1/1,295 [13]
Compiled by Captain Tim Wooldridge, USN (Ret.)

In commemoration of the first 100 years of naval aircraft flying from ships, we kick off the year with a sampling of photographs from the Naval Institute Photo Archive assembled and identified by retired Navy Captain Tim Wooldridge, now a volunteer archivist. Many more photos from the archive will be posted on the Naval Institute Web site, with a new collection from the various eras of naval aviation history presented each month. We will survey that history by several means throughout the year, so stay tuned.
