The director of the Eisenhower Center for American Studies and professor of history at the University of New Orleans, biographer of President Jimmy Carter, the first Secretary of Defense James Forrestal, and industrialist Henry Ford, and co-producer of a new book released on the 60th anniversary of the Normandy invasion talked recently with Naval History Editor Fred L.
