This poster, published more than a century ago around 1909, highlighted an enlistee’s pay and benefits, including a free uniform. The featured battleship is of the South Carolina class. The sisters, South Carolina (Battleship # 26, later BB-26) and Michigan (Battleship # 27, later BB-27), were brand new at the time. Both were launched in 1908 and commissioned in 1910.
