Happy Birthday, Commodore Ericson

Erna G. Ericson of Crystal Lake, Illinois, our longest-serving female Naval Institute Commodore, has just celebrated her 104th birthday. Though suffering from glaucoma, she rarely goes to the doctor and has had only one surgery—for a bunion. She is quoted as saying, “I’ve been healthy—still am. I don’t think I’ll ever die—well it looks like it, doesn’t it?”
