Call for Support for Wesley Brown's Oral History
Several years ago, Lieutenant Commander Wesley A. Brown, the first African-American graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, sat for a series of exhaustive candid interviews covering his life and career for the Naval Institute's oral history program. The labor-intensive processing of these tape-recorded interviews is under way, but the Institute needs support to underwrite the considerable costs of transcribing, footnoting, proofreading, indexing, and binding the history.
