You may be aware that the Naval Institute has increased the frequency of its requests—the Foundation makes no apology for this. We realize the Institute is but one of many worthy organizations asking for support, and that not every member is inclined or in position to help. The Foundation's message is meant for those who care to deepen their participation in the Institute's mission and for those who can. No arm-twisting or guilt, contributions are entirely voluntary and at the donor's comfort level.
This month, as the Naval Institute observes its 134th anniversary, all members can take pride in their association with an exceptional organization with a long and rich history. For those who go above and beyond their membership by making tax-deductible gifts throughout the year, we offer our special thanks. You are the Institute's added strength.
Help Us Preserve Vietnam Photos
Thousands of images from the Vietnam era are among the nearly half-million photographs held by the Naval Institute and in need of preservation. The archive staff is digitizing images as funds and time allow to make them available through the Internet. Financial support is needed to underwrite the cost of new computer software, hardware, printers, and scanners. You can help by sending your tax-deductible gift via check, Visa, MasterCard, or American Express—specifying it is for the photo archive—to the Naval Institute Foundation, 291 Wood Road, Annapolis, MD 21402, or making a gift online at the Institute's Web site, www.usni.org (click on " Support USNI " at the top of the left column of the Institute's home page).
Thanks to Defense Forum Washington Sponsors
Healthnet and the Fleet Reserve Association took the lead as sponsors of Defense Forum Washington, a joint collaboration between the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) and the Naval Institute held on 18 September on Capitol Hill. This year's program, "Keeping Faith With Those Who Serve: How Can We Provide the Healthcare Our Military and Veterans Need—and Deserve?" was an unqualified success.
We join MOAA in thanking all our corporate partners who supported this event:
Healthnet (Corporate Sponsor)
Fleet Reserve Association (Patron Sponsor)
TriWest Healthcare Alliance
American Physical Therapy Association
U.S. Family Health Plan
