Keep the Best, Let Go of the Rest

Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Vern Clark mandated a "realignment" of personnel. The measures of success of this move will be to reduce manpower and to keep the best sailors. Letting go of its poorest-performing sailors is a step in the right direction.

Chief Morin served on board the Cushing (DD-985) from 1986 to 1991. He is employed by a defense contractor to support the construction of Arleigh Burke (DDG-51)-class destroyers.
