With violence on the rise in missions from alien interdiction to fisheries enforcement, the Maritime Law Enforcement program is steering into a major storm. To protect boarding parties—such as this team in riot gear approaching a migrant vessel—the Coast Guard must improve and centralize training and create a law enforcement rating.
