2011 Photo Contest
2011 Proceedings Photo Contest
• Open to all persons eligible for membership (including those already members) in the Institute.
• The contest is conducted on a yearly basis for the 12 months from September to following September of the Award year with all photos published by the Institute in this period also eligible for the Prize.
• Judging is done by the editorial staff of the Institute with the assistance of recognized photographers and editors from outside USNI.
• The winning and runner-up photos are recognized in Proceedings, Naval History, and usni.org.
Awards
1st Prize - $2,500 + Life Membership with a Framed Certificate
2nd Prize - $1,500 + Framed Certificate
3rd Prize - $1,000 + Framed Certificate
Ceremony: Prize winners will be recognized in October of each year with a special presentation at the Naval Institute’s annual Honors Night celebration.
Deadline for Photo Entries: 1 October 2011.
Submission Guidelines: We prefer to receive photo images digitally. We accept cross-platform (Mac and PC compatible) CDs and DVDs with images at 300 dpi resolution (tiff or jpg). If emailing an image (no larger than 10MB), send submissions to photocontest@usni.org or mail a disk to: U.S. Naval Institute, C/O Photo Editor, 291 Wood Road, Annapolis, MD 21402.
