139th Annual Meeting of the U.S. Naval Institute


The Phoenix Park Hotel is situated on Capitol Hill at 520 North Capitol Street, NW Washington, DC.
 

From the north and northeast

  • Take the Capitol Beltway-- Interstate 495-towards Richmond to Interstate 95
  • Take Baltimore-Washington Parkway south to Route 50, which turns into New York Avenue
  • After crossing Brentwood Road and Florida Avenue travel 2-3 lights and make a sharp left turn onto North Capitol Street
  • Travel 7 blocks to 520 North Capitol Street, N.W.
  • The Phoenix Park Hotel is a large brown brick building with a green canopy at the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and North Capitol

From the south

  • Take Interstate 95 North to Interstate 395 across the Potomac River (14th Street Bridge)
  • Once over bridge, continue traveling on 14th Street to a right turn onto Pennsylvania Avenue
  • Proceed toward the U.S. Capitol on Pennsylvania until you pass the Canadian Embassy on your left and the National Gallery of Art on your right
  • At this point, turn left (not sharp) onto Louisiana Avenue-Union Station, which will be directly in front of you
  • Proceed two blocks until you reach North Capitol Street
  • Turn left. The Phoenix Park Hotel is a large brown brick building with a green canopy on your left at the corner of Massachusetts Avenue

Via Rail or Metro

  • The hotel is located on the red line metro system at the Union Station stop.
  • Proceed out the front of Union Station to Massachusetts Avenue and the hotel is one block southeast at the corner of Massachusetts Ave & North Capitol Street

Guests should enter the Museum at the corner of Massachuttes Ave and 1st Ave.  Closet to Union Station

The Smithsonian Postal Museum is situated across the street from the Phoenix Park Hotel on
2 Massachusetts Ave., N.E. Washington, DC 20002.
 

Parking

The Phoenix Park Hotel has a valet only garage at $43.66 per day. No hourly rates are available.

Union Station is next to the Postal Museum and across the street from the Phoenix Park Hotel with a large garage.  Please click here for directions and pricing.

 

General Registration Information

Advanced registration for the Annual Meeting and reception is now closed.

Onsite registration begins at 2:30pm at the Phoenix Park Hotel. We look forward to seeing you at the event.

Both events will be business attire.

Sandra “Sandy” Grimes is a twenty-six-year veteran of the CIA’s clandestine service, who spent the majority of her career working against the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe.  Born in New York State, she spent her childhood and formative years in Colorado.  She joined the CIA in July 1967, shortly after graduating from the University of Washington with a degree in Russian.  A mother of two daughters and grandmother of four, she lives in Great Falls, Virginia, with her husband of forty-three years.
