The Mission of the Institute is to provide an independent forum for those who dare to read, think, speak, and write in order to advance the professional, literary, and scientific understanding of sea power and other issues critical to national defense.
Ms. Bradlyn Morris went from Key West to the office of the Commandant, Naval District Washington, then to Naval Communication Station, Honolulu, where she left the Navy to marry a fellow officer. She is the author of three books: The Fattest Baby in the Bronx: Snack-Size Stories from a Writing Woman's Life (Bangor, ME: Booklocker.com, Inc., 2006), Crazy for Cats: A Purr-fect Love Story (Grand Rapids, MI: Gollehon Press, Inc., 2002), and The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts: An Insider's Guide to Washington's Liveliest Memorial (McLean, VA: EPM Press, 1994). Her work has also appeared in the Baltimore Sun, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Newsday, Army/Navy Times, House Beautiful, Bon Appetit, Far East Traveler, and Maryland Magazine.
